Albert Enzian

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Albert Enzian is the main character of the comic series of the same name , in the French original Achille Talon (literally: Achilles heel ).

There was also a cartoon series about Achille Talon, which was broadcast in Germany under the title Walter Mellon , but in terms of content has little to do with the comics.

Emergence

The series was developed in 1963 by Michel Régnier (better known under his pseudonym Greg ) for Pilote magazine . In Germany, the comic series made its debut from 1975 to 1977 in the Ehapa- Verlag magazine MV-Comix . Of the meanwhile 48 albums published in France, only a few were published in Germany: nine volumes by Ehapa (1976–1983), three paperbacks in the Carlsen series 16/22 (1983–1985) and two other volumes, the 1992 and 1994 in the Delta -Published under the original French title.

Most of the German volumes consist of two-page stories. Only Volume 5 and Volume 6 tell a continuous story.

The first 42 albums were written entirely by Greg. Since his death in 1999, there have only been a handful of other episodes, with constantly changing artist-copywriter pairs.

Comic series characters

  • Albert Enzian is a petty bourgeois, perhaps a bit bourgeois bachelor with a penchant for big and often know-it-all speeches. Since he is very convinced of his ability, he always tries to be right, to get himself to the fore and, above all, to win speeches with half-knowledge and empty phrases.
  • Jeremias Nörgel is Albert Enzian's neighbor, who does not shy away from any argument.
  • Alois Gotthilf Hyazinth Enzian is the bearded and mostly good-humored father of Albert Enzian, who is never averse to a good beer.

Achille Talon in Tintin, France

From 1975 to 1977 the French weekly Tintin published a total of six album- length stories with Albert Enzian. The stories are:

  • L'homme à deux têtes
in German as the 5th album under the title The story of the double
  • Le quadrumane optimiste
no German publication
  • Le trésor de Virgule
in German as the 6th album under the title Der Schatz von Platopabo
  • Le roi des Zôtres
no German publication
  • Le coquin de sort
no German publication
  • Le grain de la folie
no German publication
