Walton on the Wolds
Walton on the Wolds is a village and civil parish in Charnwood , Leicestershire with about 250 inhabitants. In the place is the St. Mary's Church, built in 1739, which replaced a dilapidated church from 1221. Etymologically , the name Walton is probably derived from Wealas, with which the Anglo-Saxons referred to the Celtic indigenous population.
The place is south of Burton on the Wolds and northeast of Barrow upon Soar .
