Barrow upon Soar is a village of about 5000 people south of Loughborough in Charnwood , Leicestershire . The place is on the east bank of the Soar opposite the A6. Barrow upon Soar gained fame when the bones of a plesiosaur were excavated there in 1851 and are now on display in the New Walk Museum in Leicester.
