Coat of arms of Gdańsk
The coat of arms of Gdansk has a long history and has been in a similar form since at least 1410 the coat of arms of the city of Gdansk . The coat of arms is very similar to the flag of Gdańsk . When Danzig became an independent state under the name Free City of Danzig in 1920 , the coat of arms was described in Article 2 of the Constitution (November 17, 1920, last amended by law of July 4, 1930). The national coat of arms showed two silver crosses standing on top of each other in the red shield , over which a golden crown hovers.
Both paw crosses and common crosses were used.
