Warhammer Ancient Battles

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Warhammer Ancient Battle (short WHAB or WAB ) is a so-called tabletop game from Games Workshop , in which historical armies made of metal figures (mostly a tin alloy) fight against each other on gaming tables according to complex rules.

game

Warhammer Ancient Battles uses the rules of Warhammer Fantasy Battles for the most part. The lack of magic, monsters and strong character models makes the game very balanced and tactical. The different peoples differ less in terms of playing technique than z. B. at Warhammer Fantasy. But there are also army lists that are disproportionately strong: e.g. crusaders, Sumerian chariot armies and some Germanic lists.

In source books the particular races are described in terms of background, special rules and miniatures. There are also books with rule extensions, special rules and background material. In Germany, Warhammer Ancient Battle is not as widespread as the fantasy or science fiction variants and is therefore referred to as a specialist system. Regulations are therefore only available in English.

Beginners in the German area are best advised with an ancient army, for example Romans, because these peoples are most played and you can find players accordingly.
