Warner Westenra (politician)

Warner Westenra was an Irish politician .

Warner Westenra was the second born, eldest surviving son and one of ten children of Henry Westenra and his wife Eleanor Allen. His mother was a daughter of Sir Joshua Allen, who was Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1673 , and sister of John Allen, 1st Viscount Allen (1661-1726). His date of birth has not been recorded, but his parents married on March 12, 1700.

He lived in the Rossmore Park estate in County Monaghan, Ireland .

In 1728 he was elected to the Irish House of Commons as MP for Maryborough . His father Henry, as well as Peter Westenra , a cousin of his father, had already belonged to the lower house of the Parliament of Ireland.

On December 13, 1738, he married Hester Lambart, daughter of Richard Lambart, 4th Earl of Cavan († 1742). The marriage had eight children. His eldest son Henry Westenra (* 1742) later also belonged to the Irish House of Commons.
