What is blooming there? is a plant identification book. The first edition appeared in 1935 and was written by Alois Kosch . In 2015, Franckh Kosmos published the 59th edition. The authors of the current edition are Margot and Roland Spohn.

The book introduces plants that occur frequently in Germany and its neighboring countries and enables the botanical layperson to identify them . It's in the sections

subdivided. In addition, botanical terms are explained in the picture. The specialty of the book is that the flowers are not classified according to biological criteria such as genus or species , but according to the flower color (red, white, blue, yellow and green / brown) and further according to the number and arrangement of the petals. Typical characteristics, a description, occurrence and special features worth knowing are given for each plant. Over 870 plants are shown. A drawing is shown for each plant. In total, the book contains over 2,000 drawings.
