The Coo waterfalls in the river Amel include a height of 15 meters the highest in Belgium .
The small waterfall has existed around the 15th century, the large one was built in the 18th century by order of the prince abbot of Stablo , probably to protect the village of Petit-Coo on the meander from flooding.
Nowadays the waterfalls are a tourist attraction. There is a restaurant and the amusement park Plopsa Coo in the small valley.
