The Argel hydropower plant ( Russian Аргельская ГЭС , also called Gyumusch hydropower plant ) is located on the Hrasdan in Armenia and has a nominal output of 224 MW. It is the third hydropower plant in the Sevan-Hrasdan Cascade and the largest in Armenia. It has been owned by RusHydro since 2003 .
The power plant consists of four Francis turbines , each with an output of 65 MW. The dam is designed as a rubble dam with a clay core.
