Eichwalde water tower

The Eichwalder water tower is a 44 m high brick building , built in 1912. It is located together with the waterworks in the drinking water catchment area of Eichwalde . The steel tank of the water tower holds 300 m³ and thus forms the supporting structure for the entire tower.

The water tower was in operation from the completion of the tower until the Second World War. He supplied the community of Eichwalde and surrounding places as well as parts of Berlin . Then the tower stood empty and fell into disrepair. In 1986 a private family announced their interest in buying the water tower and in 1990 received building permission to convert the tower into a residential building.

The water tower has been inhabited since 1996. Furthermore, a civil engineering office has settled in the water tower.
