The water tower Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe is a 99.5 meter high chimney with a 3.55 meter high, cylindrical water tank with a volume of 700 cubic meters at a height of 39 meters, which was built in 1961 as an exhaust air chimney for the research reactor 2 of the research center Karlsruhe . Above the water tank, which rests on a 2 meter high, conical base, there is a gallery . The water tower of the Karlsruhe Research Center is one of the highest water towers in Germany and one of the few chimneys with water tanks built after the Second World War.
