The railway water tower in Kornwestheim was built in 1914 according to plans by August Klönne . It was used to supply the steam locomotives at the Kornwestheim marshalling yard with water. It is 30 meters high, its spherical container has a diameter of 14.5 meters and a volume of 1100  cubic meters .

Westrandstrasse is now located between the water tower and the shunting tracks and a restaurant with a beer garden has been set up in the tower.
