Vasily Pawlowitsch Makarow , Russian Василий Павлович Макаров , is a former Soviet biathlete .

Vasily Makarov had his most successful year in 1965 when he took part in the Biathlon World Championships in Elverum . In the only official race, the individual, he was 15th. In the unofficial team competition, Makarov won the silver medal alongside Nikolai Pusanow and Vladimir Melanin behind the representation from Norway and ahead of Poland. He had his first national success at the Soviet championships in 1961 as runner-up behind Alexander Priwalow in the individual.
