The ubosot of Wat Aranyik

The area of the old temple is surrounded by a rectangular water moat, 147 meters by 210 meters. In the center are the remains of an old Sri Lankan style chedi from the late Sukhothai period. The base is square with an edge length of 14.8 meters. The front halves of 68 elephant statues originally stood around it, only a few of which have survived. To the east of the Chedi can be seen the floor plan of eight Wihan , which were connected by a gallery ( Phra Rabieng ) . To the west of the chedi was an ubosot , some of the simple Bai Sema of which have been preserved. The base of the ubosot still stands, on which there is now a sandstone statue of Buddha and some more recent statues. Also to the west of the chedi are the ruins of two Mondop .
