The Wat Chumphon Khiri ( Thai : วัด ชุมพล คีรี ) is a Buddhist temple complex ( Wat ) in Mae Sot , Province ( Changwat ) Tak .

Wat Chumphon Khiri is located in the urban area of ​​Mae Sot north of the market square.

Building history

The temple was built about 200 years ago. In the period that followed, the facility was renovated several times.

In 1993 the large golden chedi was built in the style of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Burma . It is surrounded by twenty smaller chedis and houses shrines.

Attractions

The beautifully designed Chedi has golden mosaic - tiles and is one of the main attractions of the city. There is also a large Buddha statue in the Mara Vichai posture and a drum that is around 200 years old.
