Waterways Ireland

Waterways Ireland ( Irish : "Uiscebhealaí Éireann") is an Irish - Northern Irish state canal management company and navigation authority for all of Ireland.

It is one of six intergovernmental authorities created in 1999 with the Belfast Agreement . She is responsible for the management, maintenance and further development of navigable inland waters.

Its range includes the rivers and Loughs Bann , Barrow and Erne , the Grand Canal , Royal Canal and the former Ballinamore & Ballyconnel Canal Shannon-Erne Canal and the Shannon .

Waterways Ireland is headquartered in Co. Fermanagh, Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, with regional offices in Carrick-on-Shannon , Dublin and Scarriff in the Republic of Ireland .
