Wave Riders Association of Afghanistan

The Wave Riders Association of Afghanistan (WRAA) is the national umbrella organization of Afghan surfers. It was founded in 2012 by the Berlin lawyer with Afghan roots Afridun Amu and officially recognized by the International Surfing Association (ISA) in 2014 . In the period from May 22nd to 25th, 2015, the WRAA held the first Afghan surfing championships in Ericeira . In May 2017, Afghanistan also took part in the ISA World Games in Biarritz for the first time .
