End of development

The last version of Weaverslave was released on December 7, 2005. In an e-mail Thomas Weinert explained that there would no longer be any financial means to license the code editor of a third company, which he did not name. When asked to leave the software to the community as an open source project, he said no because of further licensing problems.

Although the editor was last updated on December 7, 2005, the software is also fully operational under Windows 7 . In contrast, Weaverslave does not work with Wine under Linux .

Although the development was officially discontinued due to the almost impossible to implement Unicode support, version 3.9.19 was released on April 19, 2007, which contained an update of the PHP libraries to version 5.2.1 and 4.4.6, as well as three minor bug fixes.
