Web ranking

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Web ranking refers to a ranking of real-world objects (people, companies, products, places, universities, etc.), which is created on the basis of Internet research on these objects and evaluations based on them.

The term web ranking is sometimes used synonymously for the sorted display of documents in search engine hit lists using algorithms such as PageRank .

methodology

For each entry of a group of real-world objects that are to appear on a web ranking, one or more search queries are made, the hit lists are evaluated and added to an evaluation. The ranking is then created by sorting the entries according to this rating. A web ranking measures the Internet popularity of the corresponding entries and puts them in relation to one another.
