Weddell Plain

The Weddell Plain (also known as the Weddell Abyssal Plain ) is a deep sea level in Antarctica . It extends between the Weddell Sea and the Maud Seamount in the Lasarew Sea .
The designation recognized by the US Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF) since June 1987 was based on that of the Weddell Sea. It is named after the British navigator James Weddell (1787–1834).
