Path enlargement system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A path enlargement system (WVS) is usually an arrangement of levers and joints (often also solid joints ), which ultimately leads to a path that was previously z. B. was obtained from a piezo actuator , is extended many times over.

This principle is applied almost exclusively to the piezo actuators already mentioned, as they combine an extremely short path (approx. 1.5  µm change in length per 10 mm) with a relatively high force . As a result, the possibility of increasing the path through the short path is not only necessary, but can also be easily achieved through the high force.
