Wehrholz (Langgöns)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wehrholz is a forest area south of the state road 3133 near Niederkleen , Langgöns municipality in Germany. It is a mixed oak and beech forest . The ordnance clearance service of the state of Hesse assumes that ordnance from the time of the Second World War is present in the ground . Since the municipality does not want to spend 750,000 euros on the search for weapons, the 25 hectare forest was closed down as a commercial forest in February 2019 . The conversion into a natural forest is planned .
