It is located in the village of Engelshagen. Apart from the cellar, the ground floor of the building from the 17th century has been preserved. The tower used to be twice as high. In addition, two loopholes show its former function, which it had already lost in the 18th century. The extension of the house also dates from the 18th century.

The purpose of the building was to protect the population in the event of armed conflict. Fixed courtyards were built in rural areas, the defensive facilities of which ensured self-protection. The so-called “Steengaden”, which were keep-like residential and defense towers, served as a place of defense and refuge. In contrast to the traditional half-timbered construction, they were made entirely of stone.
