The 4th meeting of the Weimar Triangle took place on February 27, 2001 in Hambach Castle in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse , Germany .

Attendees

The French President , Jacques Chirac , the Polish President Aleksander Kwaśniewski and the German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder were present .

The importance of closer cooperation between the three countries was a central theme of the talks. In the course of the meeting, the participants again emphasized the importance of the trilateral meetings. Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder declared: " Poland , France and Germany represent the hard core of this Europe in the process of being built."
