The further education academy Austria (abbreviation in its own spelling : wba ) is an in-service qualification and recognition system for adult educators in Austria that has existed since 2007 .

description

The further education academy is a partnership institution of Austrian adult education. It examines and recognizes the skills of adult educators according to defined standards and awards a two-stage degree with a certificate and diploma .

According to its own mission statement, it supports the permeability between adult education and university education and training, recognizes educational offers without being an education provider itself and thus makes a sustainable contribution to the professionalization and quality development of adult education in Austria.

The target group are people who are leading, pedagogically responsible, organizing, teaching, accompanying the learning process and / or providing advice in adult education or in the library sector. Building on competences already acquired in practice, missing competencies can be acquired through offers on the adult or further education market and end in a two-stage degree with the wba certificate or the wba diploma , which can be sought in four focus areas.

Bodies

The steering committee bears pedagogical and content-related responsibility for the cooperative system and is responsible for its further development and public relations. The steering committee is the decisive authority in the event of complaints. The five-person Accreditation Council examines all applications from candidates and training providers and deals with questions of quality assurance. The Accreditation Council is made up of independent experts who work at the interfaces between adult education, colleges of education, universities and business.
