Welles (ship)
The Welles is the last ferry that operates on the Saar .
During the season it drives every day except Mondays in the Saarschleife area from a landing stage at the old “Fährhaus” inn and primarily transports hikers and cyclists who want to visit Montclair Castle , for example . The Welles holds twelve passengers.
Incidents
In 1996 the Saar was frozen over and the ferry had to be freed from the ice. In the spring of 2010, the Welles collided with a cargo ship, injuring a child.
