Wellpoint method

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wellpoint (point well) method is carried out in the area of lowering the groundwater by means of a combined suction of air and water via a suitably constructed well using a vacuum pump.

application

The method is used as a vacuum drainage method for the drainage of construction pits and is preferably used for fine-grained soils, whereby the small wells are sunk at a distance of a few meters. The area of application is in the area of the groundwater level or capillary fringe, which can hardly be specifically recorded with purely pneumatic or purely hydraulic methods.
