Online version

An online version of the dictionary was published in February 2012.

The online version was developed by the Language Technologies Department, Canolfan Bedwyr, Bangor University. It is possible to browse the version online using a Welsh or English interface. In 2018, according to Alexa Rank, an average of 9,735 people visited the online dictionary (lexicographyracademi.org).

According to Bruce Griffiths, since around 2008 it has not been technically possible to expand the dictionary in the printed version because the printer cannot change the main text. He said in Golwg  : "You have printed corrections as an appendix to the main text. Unfortunately the online version does not contain this appendix. For example, the word website does not exist (at line), but it is in the appendix in the printed version. "
