World Alzheimer's Day

World Alzheimer's Day is September 21 .

Since 1994, a variety of activities have been taking place around the world on September 21st to make the public aware of the situation of Alzheimer's patients and their families. Around 35 million people worldwide are affected by dementia , two thirds of them in developing countries. By 2050, the number is projected to rise to 115 million, particularly dramatically in China, India, and Latin America.

The World Alzheimer's (Engl. World Alzheimer's Day ) was organized by the umbrella organization of Alzheimer's Disease International (London) and the WHO established. He finds worldwide support. In Germany, in addition to the German Alzheimer's Society (DAlzG), the Alzheimer's Research Initiative on World Alzheimer's Day draws attention to the situation of the sick and the importance of Alzheimer's research and Alzheimer's education.
