It is located between West Brompton and Clapham Junction train stations near the Thames on the border of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea .
history
Plans for a station at this location had been in place since 1993, but final funding was not secured until April 2008 after the 2005 cost was estimated at £ 3 million . The costs were taken over by St. George, the planner of the neighboring luxury apartment complex, who served as the namesake for the station. During the project phase, the station was named after the nearby Chelsea Harbor . Construction started at the end of July 2008.
After the opening of the station was originally planned for 2009, the opening was scheduled for 2010 after construction delays. However, the station was already operational on September 29, 2009.
