World Guest Guide Day

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Weltgästeführertag (English: International Tourist Guide Day ITGD ) will be held on annually on February 21 instead. On this day the World Association of Tour Guides (WFTGA) was founded and has been running this day of action since 1990. The association wants to draw attention to the "indispensable work of well-trained" tour guides .

In Germany, the day has been organized since 1999 by the Federal Association of Tour Guides in Germany (BVGD), which held a central kick-off event for the first time in 2008. The general assembly of the BVGD sets a new topic every year, under which campaigns are offered nationwide.
