Cosmopolitan city with a heart
Weltstadt mit Herz was the official slogan that the Bavarian capital Munich used for its own city marketing from 1962 to 2005 .

The slogan was found in a competition organized by the Munich Tourist Office together with the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Münchner Merkur in 1962. Over 14,000 readers of both newspapers took part in the competition with a total of over 40,000 suggestions, from which “Munich, a cosmopolitan city with a heart” was selected.
Succession slogan
The 2006 World Cup in Germany kicked off a new image campaign for the city in 2005. Since then she has been promoting herself with the slogan Munich Loves You / München mag Dich .
