World union of writers' doctors
The World Union of Writer's Doctors , French Union Mondiale des Écrivains Médecins (UMEM) and English World Union of Writing Physicians , is the umbrella organization of the national associations of so-called writer's doctors . The association was founded in 1968 in Lucerne . It is represented by national associations worldwide.
Basics and goals
The organization is based on friendship and collegiality, its goals are tolerance, cultivating cultural exchange and supranationalism , promoting mutual respect and humanity among people, regardless of religion, political attitude and skin color.

The World Union has held an annual international congress in German and French since 1956, with English being accepted. In the past, the topics of these congresses were (selection):
