Werner Bienwald (born July 6, 1936 in Berlin ) is a German university professor, lawyer and specialist legal author. Bienwald is known in legal circles as the author of a standard commentary on supervision law. He is also one of the co-editors of the legal journal FamRZ .

Life

In 1945 Bienwald became a half orphan because his father died in captivity. After Berlin was divided into four sectors, Bienwald lived in the Soviet sector in East Berlin, where he also graduated from high school in 1955. He then began training as a church administrator at the Berlin City Synodal Association, which he completed in 1957. In order to be able to begin studying at the Free University of Berlin , Bienwald first had to take a high school diploma in West Berlin. After successfully passing this, he began to study law at the FU in 1958. At first, Bienwald did not change his place of residence, so he was considered a so-called border commuter. The construction of the Wall on August 13, 1961 initially interrupted his studies. Then Bienwald worked again at the Berlin City Synodal Association until he managed to escape to West Berlin. Some time later he went to Göttingen , where he completed his studies at the university there. In 1964, however, Bienwald took his first state examination in Oldenburg. During his legal traineeship, Bienwald went back to his hometown in West Berlin. This activity was supplemented by a voluntary station at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer . In 1968, the now married father of one child passed the second state examination in law and then joined the Berlin judiciary as an assessor . In July 1971 Bienwald was appointed district judge, a month later he followed the call of the newly founded Evangelical University of Applied Sciences in Hanover , where he initially worked as a lecturer. In 1976 he finally received a professorship. Until his retirement, the university was Bienwald's professional focus, and between 1975 and 1978 he was its rector. His teaching activities focused on civil law and civil procedural law, as well as the areas of child, guardianship, guardianship and care law. In 1992 , Bienwald received his doctorate from the University of Hanover on the legal status of the frail carer . Werner Bienwald has been officially admitted to the bar again since 2002 and runs a law firm in Oldenburg.
