Werner Dorr is a German disabled athlete.

Career

Werner Dorr is a wheelchair user. Since he wanted to do sports despite his disability, he chose table tennis for himself . He practiced this sport both individually and in a team. His handicapped group was TT 3. Since his performance within his performance group was so good, he was soon appointed to the German national team for competitions in handicapped sports. As early as 1984 he took part in the Paralympic Summer Games and immediately won the gold medal in the individual, thus becoming an Olympic champion.

Werner Dorr also took part in the 1996 Summer Paralympic Games in Atlanta. Here he reached 3rd place with the German team and won a bronze medal.

For this success, he and the team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf .
