The Weserspucker is a monument in the East Westphalian city of Minden . The bronze figure was created by the sculptor Theodor Henke and erected in 1978 on Bäckerstraße in downtown Minden. Since November 29, 2014, the Weserspucker can be viewed at its new location on the Poos.

history

The 1.20 m tall bronze figure is a design by the master sculptor Theodor Henke from Bad Oeynhausen, who was asked by the former men's outfitter Max Weidenfeller GmbH & Co. KG to design a figure related to the Minden. Weidenfeller then donated this cast bronze figure to the city of Minden.

Set up in the central city center, its periodic spitting of water shows the non-bourgeois attitude of the city's Weserspucker and thus preserves its folk character.

During the planned redesign of downtown Minden in the 2015s, the Weserspucker moved from Bäckerstraße to the intersection of Bäckerstraße / Scharn. Here it is repositioned on the western edge of the square. The location is called Poos.
