West Lynn is a borough of King's Lynn in Norfolk . The city center can be reached either by ferry or, with a detour of about four kilometers, by road. West Lynn was previously organized as an independent Civil parish , which from 1894 was the only one in the King's Lynn Rural District . In 1935 the area was divided. While the rural area went to the Borough of King's Lynn, the remainder was added to the place Clenchwarton . Today the district mainly includes the former part and belongs to the administrative district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk . There is a primary school in West Lynn.

West Lynn is connected to King's Lynn city center by a passenger ferry. This has existed since 1285 and is one of the oldest ferry connections in England. The ferry, operated by SN Kingston Marine Services , runs twice an hour Monday through Saturday between 6.45 a.m. and 9 a.m. and between 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. In 2011, 85,000 passengers were transported in this way.
