West radio
The West Funk GmbH & Co. KG , headquartered in Essen is a German who Funke Media Group is listening (ehem. WAZ Media Group), media companies. It acts as the service operator of twelve local radio stations in the Ruhr area . These twelve stations receive their program from Radio NRW , but Westfunk is responsible for marketing and technology. To this end, Westfunk holds majority stakes in the individual operating companies of the broadcasters. She oversees the broadcasters' advertising time sales for the local advertising block, the nationwide advertising block is looked after by Radio NRW. In addition, Westfunk takes care of the equipment and marketing of the local broadcasters. Since 2006, attempts have been made to create a uniform station image so that the local radios receive the same station colors and similar logos. In July 2019, the appearance of all twelve local radios was renewed, with Westfunk as the umbrella brand also adapting its brand image.
Headquarters
Since January 2019 the headquarters of Westfunk has been housed in the FUNKE Media Office, the headquarters of the Funke media group in Essen. The radio stations between the Lower Rhine, Ruhr area and Sauerland are looked after from there.
