Weather rocket

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A weather rocket is a rocket developed by Friedrich Schmiedl to research the state of the higher atmosphere outside the range of radiosondes . Weather rockets therefore usually only consist of two parts: the drive and the payload , which includes various measuring instruments.

Weather rockets are also called rockets for influencing the weather. For this purpose, rockets with silver iodide are ignited over areas with little rain (arable farming) in order to specifically irrigate them.
