When All Is Said And Done is a song by Swedish pop group ABBA in 1981. It first appeared on the last studio album of the group The Visitors and was extracted in December 1981 in some countries as a single. Should I Laugh Or Cry ,also produced in the sessions, was used as the B-side. The lead singer is Anni-Frid Lyngstad , Agnetha Fältskog can also be heardin some passages and in the chorus.

Like The Winner Takes It All or One Of Us, the song is about a broken relationship.

History of origin

The first backing tracks for When All Is Said And Done were recorded between March 16-19, 1981. This makes the song one of the first to be recorded for the album, even if it was edited and mixed several times in the course of the subsequent recording sessions . According to lyricist Björn Ulvaeus , the song is in a sense dedicated to the two group members Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad , who officially announced their separation on February 12, 1981. Lyngstad was therefore able to incorporate some emotions into her vocal performance.

The song was recorded on November 24, 1981, shortly before the album was released, also as "No Hay A Quien Culpar" in Spanish. While the music video for the original version was shot on August 29, 1981, that for the Spanish version took place a few days after the recording, on November 27, 1981. In February 1982, No Hay A Quien Culpar was first presented to the public through a Spanish television special, which was recorded in Stockholm. This language version was only released on CD in 1994 as part of the ABBA box set Thank You For The Music .
