Whitfield Prize
The Whitfield Prize (Engl. Whitfield Prize ) is an annually by the Royal Historical Society conferred award for the best book on the British or Irish history of the year. It must be the author's first book in the field. The prize is endowed with 1000 pounds (as of 2015) and has been awarded since 1976.
Until 2013, the year of the award related to the respective competition period, even if the award was not awarded until the following year. Since 2015, the year of the award has been given as the year of the award.
