The Zeytun Resistance in 1915 was the resistance against the Armenian Genocide by Armenian Fedayeen from the Social Democratic Huntschak Party (Hentschak) in the city of Zeytun (now Suleymanli ). They resisted the attacking troops of the Ottoman Empire in two armed conflicts , the first between August 30 and December 1, 1914, and the second on March 25, 1915.

The first conflict involved 20,000 armed Armenian fedayeen. In the second, they had 69 grenades, 612 projectiles, 21 hand guns and 70 horses at their disposal. A total of 100 soldiers died on the Turkish side, while 60 died among the Armenians in the first conflict alone.

First conflict

In the first battle, which lasted over three months from August 30 to December 1, 1914, it was reported that the Armenians defeated all the Ottoman troops . A total of 60 Armenian fedayeen died, according to the reports.

Second conflict

It is reported that on March 25, 1915, Zeytun was captured by the Ottoman army . The exact date for the beginning of this conflict is not known, in a report from Ambassador Wangenheim in Istanbul to Reich Chancellor Bethmann Hollweg on May 13, 1915 it was reported that the fight had been going on for the past few weeks.
