The bz-Wiener Bezirkszeitung , " bz" for short , is a free weekly newspaper in Vienna. The bz is divided into 23 district editions, which appear in the structure of the Viennese municipal districts in Viennese households.
The bz-Wiener Bezirkszeitung GmbH has been under the umbrella of Regionalmedien Austria AG since 2009 , which was founded as a 50/50 joint venture by Styria Media Group AG and Moser Holding AG.

The bz-Wiener Bezirkszeitung was founded in 1983 and was run by Mader-Verlag until 2006. In the spring of 2006, the bz-Wiener Bezirkszeitung was taken over by Österreichische Post AG. Maximilian Schulyok has been the managing director of bz since February 2014. Before entering the media business, he worked in political management and as a press spokesman. In 2012, Maximilian Schulyok came to the Burgenland district sheets, where he was in charge of the regional key account. In the bz he follows Romana Stelzl and will assume overall responsibility for the company together with the authorized signatories Alexandra Laubner and Sandra Ritzberger.
Business model
The bz-Wiener Bezirkszeitung is free of charge and is delivered “to one household” throughout Vienna. The newspaper is financed exclusively through advertising revenues.
Editorial concept
The editorial office of the bz-Wiener Bezirkszeitung is independent . Bz delivers local news from the readers' immediate environment, their district. In addition, reports are provided on topics relevant to the federal state and Austria - with the aim of establishing links with the regions.
