Wii Speak was an accessory for the Nintendo Wii console released in December 2008 . It consists of a room microphone to be attached to the top of the television and enables voice communication between up to four consoles. A special Wii Speak channel serves as the platform . The microphone is connected to the console via the USB port.

At the same time as Wii Speak , Nintendo is releasing the first game (Animal Crossing: Let's go the City) that should fully support the new voice function. This makes it possible to talk to any player while the game is running - provided that the player also has a Wii microphone.

The service was discontinued in 2014.
