Part of the game reserve

The Schonnebeck game reserve is a game park at Matthias-Erzberger-Straße 42 in the Schonnebeck district in the northeast of the city of Essen .

Enclosure

The game reserve, to which a small animal facility is connected, is run on a voluntary basis and supported by a non-profit organization.

The nearly 50 animals include donkeys, goats, pot-bellied pigs, ferrets, rabbits, ducks and geese.

At the end of June 2019, the fallow deer enclosure had to be closed by order of the veterinary office, but the animals remained in the enclosure. Parts of the fallow deer were shot in December 2019.
