content

The virgin Marie - called "wild water" - visits her uncle Hans von Röder, monastery governor at the castle, in the turmoil of warlike feuds. He had the mighty knight Casper Gans Edler von Putlitz caught with cunning and locked up in the castle dungeon. Meanwhile, Marie meets the traveling student Joachim and tender bonds of love are formed, which in the end avert all harm.
A bishop whose down-to-earth disposition repeatedly worries him about an internal conflict; a jailer who finds his inner peace in mocking the prisoners and in wine and a doctor without timing are the spice of this staging, which is entertaining and exciting in its way around historical facts.
