The Wilfried Rasch Clinic in Dortmund (also: LWL Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry Dortmund ) is a clinic for forensic psychiatry in the Dortmund district of Aplerbeck and serves as a measure for male offenders with psychoses and personality disorders . The area of responsibility lies in the regional court district of Dortmund. The clinic was opened in 2006 as the first of six forensic clinics in North Rhine-Westphalia with the "legal mandate to improve and protect mentally ill and addicts offenders" . The hospital is run by the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association (LWL). The clinic was named after the German forensic psychiatrist Wilfried Rasch .

In the department, mentally ill offenders from the regional court district of Dortmund are treated. The patients are housed in residential groups. The building is electronically and structurally secured against breakouts.
criticism
After the construction plans were announced, the population initially protested. There was particular concern about outbreaks. Despite the initial criticism, the clinic is now accepted by the population. However, further expansion plans are still viewed critically.
