Willem Vrelant (* in Utrecht ; † around 1481/82 in Bruges ) was a Dutch illuminator . Vrelant was already active in Utrecht around 1450 and created the book of hours of Willem von Montfort here . From 1454 to 1481 he can be traced in the Bruges bookmakers' guild. In his powerful and productive workshop he created a book of hours dated 1455–1460, which is now in Baltimore, the book of hours of Isabella of Castile (around 1460), the Chroniques de Hainaut (1468) and individual miniatures in the book of hours of Mary of Burgundy (around 1480).
