William Charles Linnaeus Martin
William Charles Linnaeus Martin (* 1798 , † February 15, 1864 in Lee (Kent) ) was a British naturalist and author.
Martin was the son of the naturalist and paleontologist William Martin , who named him after Carl von Linné . From 1830 to 1838 he was curator of the Museum of the Zoological Society of London . After being fired due to budget cuts, he wrote books and essays on natural history that made him famous.
He was a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London .
