In 1953 he inherited the title of nobility and the associated property in Westminster from his late cousin Hugh Grosvenor, 2nd Duke of Westminster . The title was also associated with a seat in the House of Lords , but due to his intellectual disability he did not appear there.

The Duke died unmarried and childless in 1963 at the age of 68. His title inherited from his cousin Gerald Grosvenor, 4th Duke of Westminster , the firstborn son of his half-uncle.
